To our elected official: Thank you for standing with our community against the FDOT's proposed Pinellas Bayway toll increase. This plan would have unduly burdened those of us who have no choice but to use the Bayway to get to our homes, schools, churches, and jobs. It would have been bad for tourism, and bad for our small businesses. Withdrawal of H 287 and S 544 is the right thing to do. We appreciate our elected representatives listening to their constituents; our legislator's reaction on this issue is exactly why it is so critical that toll setting authority on the Bayway remain under the control of voters, and not be delegated to a state road agency.
